Who you are
Ingka Centres is a unique global shopping center company that creates vibrant meeting places anchored by IKEA stores. We are looking for a skilled and experienced Interior Architect to join our team and support the growth and revenue generation of new and existing Meeting Places. You will collaborate with IKEA Retail, the Ingka Group, and external contractors to deliver the needs of customers and local communities within the locations we operate.
As an Interior Architect with Ingka Centres, you are a go-getter and a self-motivated problem solver who is passionate about collaborating with others to achieve outstanding results. Your experience in developing large retail-led mixed-use projects, coordinating with architectural design, and working with international architects and consultants is a plus. Sounds like you?
You have knowledge of interior projects and design, and you are familiar with the IKEA visual and verbal identity. We also think that you are a result oriented & high level of Integrity & Ethics leader striving towards togetherness, finding better way, and enable change.
Additionally, we think that you:
• Have a university degree in Architecture, and a minimum of 7-10 years of full-cycle experience with shopping center development and or management,
• Have a thorough understanding of the design process and design management
• Are proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop, Microsoft Office packages
• Have experience working on Revit, BIM 360, or equivalent software
• Are a detail-oriented, quality-focused individual who displays a positive disposition towards work
• You should be exposed to latest trends in market, new materials and finishes, a supermarket exposure with a good database of vendors, ID contractors, manufacturers etc.
• Are fluent in written and oral English and possess effective communication and interpersonal skills.
A day in your life with us
As an Interior Architect with Ingka Centres, your main responsibility is to ensure that all interior-related components of the design meet the conceptual and commercial requirements of the meeting place.
You work closely with the Architectural Teams on related subjects of Architectural Design, Landscape, Façade & MEP coordination to ensure that all Interior Design related aspects are in association with the architect, where there is an architectural overlap, and with all disciplines and associated consultants including signage.
You coordinate all Interior Design related aspects in association with the architect and other disciplines and associated consultants, including signage, to ensure quality control and production of all Interior Design associated drawing packages from consultants.
What you’ll do every day:
· You will be responsible for safeguarding the Meeting Place concept by ensuring it is translated into the Architectural narrative, captured in the commercial brief and monitored in the delivery of the design of the project
· You will coordinate all ID related aspects in association with the Architect where there is an Architectural overlap, and with all disciplines and associated consultants including signage
· You will be ensuring quality control and production of all ID associated drawing packages from consultants
· You will be securing strong integration and interface between SC and IKEA from the ID perspective
· You will be checking associated Ingka Centres guidelines/Manuals are incorporated into the project as necessary
· Leasing support: Provide drawings and sketches related to leasing requirements as necessary
· Special assignments given by Design Manager (Sketches, drawings) on ID development required
· Site mockups and site inspection to ensure all interior design aspects are correctly implemented and applied by all associated consultants/ contractors
· Support TC Manager to review tenants design and ensure tenants design follows the shop front handbook
· Develop key design initiatives and studies as part of the development of the Design competence and knowledge hub, collate and share all design function related project learnings globally
· Participation in Cost and Value Engineering of all ID components in FOH & BOH areas and other specialized areas of Meeting Place like food court, customer touchpoints, shopfronts, etc.
· Prepare budget and cost estimates and support assist/check BOQs, quotations, etc.
· Preparing Design Brief Report, File Notes, Change order request etc. for assisting in decision-making by Management
In this role you will be based in Noida, India, and you will report to Smita Shet, Centres Projects Design Manager.

This role belongs to Expansion & Development domain, it’s purpose is to source, develop and establish meeting places that contribute to the expansion plans of IKEA Retail and drive visitation as well as steer towards optimizing the portfolio by investing in assets and divesting of assets.
